Rosebuds Program

The Rosebuds Program was developed to enhance personal, civic and leadership development of young ladies through structured educational workshops and is open to rising 9th and 10th grade girls.

Rosebuds Program Overview

  • Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) and Ivy Endowment, Incorporated started The Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program 39 years ago.
  • The Rosebuds Program is an integral part of the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
  • Rosebuds participate in various programs and activities which prepares them for the more rigorous Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
  • Rosebuds traditionally serve as hostesses during the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.

Objectives of the Program

  • To enhance personal, civic, and leadership development through structured educational workshops.
  • To promote high ethical standards, character development, good citizenship, and social graces during formative years.
  • To promote high academic achievement.
  • To promote servant leadership through volunteerism and community service.
  • To promote camaraderie and positive relationships with other young women.
