The Rosebuds Program is designed to foster personal, civic, and leadership development among young women through a series of structured educational workshops. This program is open to girls entering the 9th and 10th grades.
Rosebuds Program Overview
- Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) and Ivy Endowment, Incorporated started The Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program 39 years ago.
- The Rosebuds Program is an integral part of the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
- Rosebuds participate in various programs and activities which prepares them for the more rigorous Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
- Rosebuds traditionally serve as hostesses during the Debutante Cotillion and Scholarship Program.
Objectives of the Program
- Enhance the skills and knowledge of participants through structured educational workshops.
- Promote high ethical standards, good citizenship, and social graces during these formative years.
- Support and encourage high academic achievement among participants.
- Instill the values of volunteerism and community service to cultivate a spirit of servant leadership.
- Foster camaraderie and cultivate positive relationships among young women.
